Dennis Watkins is a Chicago magician and mentalist known for world-class magic and mind-reading. Magic runs in the family: his grandfather ran a Dallas magic shop for nearly 30 years.

The Magic Parlour

In 2009 Dennis launched his solo show, The Magic Parlour. Seventeen years and nearly 100,000 guests later, it’s Chicago’s longest-running magic show, now produced in partnership with The Goodman Theatre at its own speakeasy venue in Chicago’s Theater District. The Chicago Sun-Times calls him “Chicago’s Official Magic Man.”

Award-Winning Artistry

Dennis is a founding member of The House Theatre of Chicago, where he played Harry Houdini in all eight sold-out runs of Death and Harry Houdini. He received a Joseph Jefferson Award for his work on the show in 2012. He has helped create 24 world premieres with The House, Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, The Goodman and others.

For corporate and private events, Dennis builds each performance around your audience and your goals, from close-up magic at an intimate dinner to a launch, gala or leadership retreat. With 300 performances each year at The Magic Parlour, he accepts a limited number of outside engagements.
